This is not part of Islam. In Islam Allah put the responsibility of providing for the family on men and looking after her husband, kids and the house on women. Any woman who accepts such a materialistic person has only herself to blame. 

Now a days when looking for marriage proposals guys demand girls to be working.that girl should give her share of income as it is her responsibility to make money & back her husband as now everything is expensive. Some guys even look down upon a home maker wife. What is the ruling in islam to demand a wife to work & call a home maker idle person.
