My question is that you said a layman must choose 1 madhab to follow and not choose from second. I follow hanafi madhab but in hanafi madhab they pray witr with 3 rakahs (2 tashahhud and 1 tasleem) but i pray it like others with 2 rakah tasleem and then 1 rakah tasleem. So can i do it or should i pray only in hanafi way.

You must follow the authentic sunnah way and not pray witr in hanafi manner as this is against the sunnah.
