ANSWER:

This is absolutely baseless and superstitious belief that has got nothing to do with Islam. 

This can mount to shirk! 

My question is that some of my elders were saying that it is not good to place the almirah in a room facing south-west direction or something like that she was saying it stops in development of the family. Is this authentic? Is there anything such In Islam? I’m confused please guide me
