The final word is for her guardian who is her father. If he agrees, you don’t have to answer her elder brother or communicate with him about this! But if he is her guardian or her father is too weak to protest, such a condition is acceptable and you have the right to agree or call it off and look for another woman.

My question is that i want to engage with a girl with whom i m in love, everybody is agree but the elder brother of the girl is not agreeing and creating issues one after the other and he wants me to write down an amount of 10 lac to 15 lac, if i will give talk or get marry with some one else.
