Because she was ignorant of the obligation of Hijab, she will be forgiven in sha Allah. But now that you know you must tell her or she knows that it is obligatory she must wear it. She is sinful if she does not wear it except if she is too old and wrinkled to the extent that no one can desire her!

My mom is 63 years old and prays for 10 years. Because of her limits on reading she has very little knowledge in Islam. I converted to Islam recently and I love her to wear hijab but she told me it’s already late for her to wear hijab. Pls can you advise me what’s reality will she be rewarded if she wears hijab at this age?

I have recently come across a saying of Ibn Taymiyyah (Rahimahullah) in which he says women are forbidden from wearing shorts, short dresses, trousers etc and Sheikh Uthaymin said it is because its an imitation of the kuffar and men. Women who live in the west are used to wearing such clothes at home infront of husbands etc. Please clarify.

I used to commit a sin about 2 years ago (wearing mascara to work) I knew this was wrong, & eventually stopped. But now I’m getting grief over it as though I still wear it. I feel like I might as well start applying it again because it hurts more being looked down on after trying so hard to finally give it up than it does when I am actually wearing it. Why do people make others feel like that?
