Tearing the contract is not divorce. You are still married.

My husband tore the Nikah paper having the intention of divorce, but he didn’t say it to me verbally, that “you are divorced” so my question is that are we still married or it’s considered a divorce?

A sister was given divorce/talaaq through a text message to her which was sent to her and her father’s email. And when the father went to ask the man (i.e. his daughters husband) and his family about it they said the text message… …was true and the man (the girls husband) did not want to speak about it any further. Is this marriage now fully over? Are they Islamically divorced now? Will there need to be further actions taken?
