My father does not follow the teachings of Islam. He is very rude and treats me horribly. What bothers me most about him is that he does not practice cleanliness. For example, he makes a mess (he doesn’t clean up his dishes after eating, he drops food on the kitchen floor, he cleans his hands using a cloth instead of water, he leaves his clothing & tea cups in the living room). What should I do?

What kind of a question is this? Are you muslim?

Allah ordered you to be obedient, respectful and dutiful towards your parents! They cleaned your mess when you were a child and gave their lives to bring you up to be who you are.

Now, you are complaining about him! Why don’t you throw him in a nursing home like all disbelievers do with their parents?

Fear Allah and acknowledge that your father is the middle gate of paradise and you won’t be able to enter it except through serving him!

Prophet s.a.w only sits on the floor while eating so why is it not sunnah to eat food while sitting on the floor?

Whose Dua is more likely to be accepted? A father’s Dua for his child or mother’s Dua?
