ANSWER:

This is not shirk but it is not permissible to do so.

It wouldn’t be advisable to tell them that now as they are grieving and this might be a fitna for some and may cause them to say inappropriate things about Islam.

However, after few weeks, you may share with them the fatwa on such an issue.

My cousin had passed away before 3 days and all my relatives uploading his picture in facebook whatup display and whatsup status for memories and love for him. May i know is this shirk or not???
