You must hold your ground and tell him that if he does it outside the house, he is the one responsible and he will be punished for that in hell but not you are parents, as you are obliged to prevent him from such haram.

my 13 yr old son listens to music from school & outside & then wants to listen to the same on YouTube at home. Compared 2 his peers, he selects songs with good lyrics but still they’re with music & by modern singers. I try to dissuade him Islamically but he responds saying if I don’t approve, he will continue 2 listen as he enjoys it but outside home. How 2 counsel & make him give up?
