ANSWER:

If he is unable to pay you back, you must be patient and wait till his conditions are better. But if he is able to pay you back, it is your right to demand your money back from him. 

Just after marriage I lent my husband a big amount of money which he said he would pay back in 2 years but has paid nearly nothing of it back and it has been almost 3 years now.
