It is permissible to fast only ashura. It is recommended to fast the day afterwards, if you missed fasting the day before it.

Is it wrong to fast only on the day of ashura ie 10th of muharram? I could not fast on the ninth due to periods then next day I did ghusl and fasted so shd I continue to fast on 11th muharram also?

I usually dring water 2-3 mins before Fajr Azaan so that I can start fasting. But today, it was still 2 mins.in Azaan time, & I heard Azaan from a far away mosque, but not from my mosque.I drank water.And after that, I heard Azaan from my mosque. Is my fast valid? Cuz people say one must follow the Azaan timings of your own mosque, not far away mosques. Plz advs.
