It is not permissible for a stranger to talk to a girl without any legitimate reason. Such a proposal must only be addressed to the father or to her brother. Talking directly with the girl is not permissible.

Is it permmitted for a guy to ask a girl if she is lookin to get married …or does he have to ask her father…or is it permissble for him to even talk to her?
