Is it permissible to specially plan a travel to dubai, such that we can witness the spectacular fireworks on 31st dec night. I personally feel its haraam ,what they are doing is an absolute waste of money and shameful keeping the condition of syria palestine etc in mind. My friends feel I am over reacting, if it was haram a muslim country would not engage itself in it. Please advise,

I heard an Islamic speaker say that whether the system is of democracy, theocracy, dictatorship, kingship or any other system, it does not matter as long as they rule by the book of Allaah. Is it correct? Also if the shariah is established, how will a Khalifah be chosen? Since in democracy every single person from the country votes but Abu Bakr(ra) or Umar (ra) was chosen by few companions not by the every single member of the Ummah.
