It is totally prohibited to work for conventional commercial insurance companies as it involves two major sins: Riba and Gambling and working there would be collaborating and facilitating evil and the salary would be haram as well. 

Is actuary halal since I’ve read that it doesn’t deal with interest, but rather quantifying risks involved in business and investment? And can you explain whether it is halal to work in insurance companies?
