a woman whose profession is baking cakes. She read a fatwa that baking cakes for birthdays, anniversaries etc is Haram. So does that mean any Bakery that bakes cakes is Haram because whether someone accepts it or not, most of the cakes are for Birthdays and Anniversaries. That woman also takes any Cake order that comes and does not celebrate Birthdays or Anniversaries herself nor does she specifically advertise that she bakes cakes for Birthdays and Anniversaries etc. Catering Businesses also serve food for such occasions but nobody calls them Haram as this is not their business in specific and they prepare food for any occasion. Why do Big businesses get away and small ones suffer due to such fatwas.
