ANSWER:

The marriage is valid, however the man is sinful for not paying off the mahr and he is also sinful for accepting a dowry like Hindus! 

Men must fear Allah’s punishment and should be ashamed of themselves for being like this!

In my country a system of dowry prevails where bride’s family has to give groom furniture,bedding,electrical appliances,utensils,crockery and other household items.But when it comes to mahr an amount is fixed verbally which is never given in reality.If a girl wants mahr then also it is not given.It is given only in case of divorce.So will the marriage be valid without mahr?
