In my community there is a widespread tradition, at the end of marriage ceremony, when bride is departing with her husband, a relative holds the Holy Quran over her head while she’s walking as a mean of protection or some other belief i guess. Isnt it disrespect of the Quran and what do you say about this?

ANSWER:
This practice has nothing to do with Islam. This is absolutely baseless, an innovation and disrespecting the Qur’an.
