In my building there is already a masjid which strictly follows Hanafi & all conventional rulings. We also offer prayer according to proper sunnah here in the same congregation. Now some of us (8/10) have decided to organize a different jama’h in the same building to pray in Awal waqt, follow proper sunnah etc But to me this is excessive. Please give an opinion. What should I do?

ANSWER:
Splitting the Muslims into two congregations just because if Asr prayer is not at all recommended. Muslims as a minority must unite and you should try to ask the imam to pray in the beginning of the time of Asr and if he refuses, continue to pray with him as long as everything else in accordance to the sunnah.
