ANSWER:

What this so called maulvi has said is absolutely baseless and wrong. He is an ignorant and must not be listened to or learnt from. The nikah is totally valid. 

The choice is for the woman to make if she wants to live with this husband or not. If she wants divorce because of this, she has all the right to go ahead with it. 

If a man is barren is it permissible for his wife to leave him because i saw a local moulvi saying that marriage with a barren man is not halal like that nikkah is not valid. Also i know that it is Allah who gives children.
