The marriage contract has to have the proposal from the guardian and the acceptance of the man, the consent of the woman and the presence of two witnesses.

Reciting the Fatiha is an innovation and has no significance in the marriage. These two are not married yet and they are total strangers.

I would like to ask you about the halal and haram in an engagement. For a couple that have only read the Fatiha?
