Some animals did speak with the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam. Whether these animals understand humans or not, you need to ask the animals as I can’t speak for them. 

I was wondering does the animals understand humans and is it true that the animals spoke to the prophet muhammad saw and if they did wasn’t it only solayman that could speak to the animals
