I was wondering because my family isn’t religious. First of all they don’t celebrate christmas, but they still gather together to eat and then they give each other presents, so my question would be: Can I join my family in this? To eat and then go home later, just to see them this time, because we never meet up with each other. And What if I recieve a present, what should I do with it?? I can’t just burn it? or say no thanks, when it was for me?..

You should explain to them with all the love and respect that this against our beliefs and that you are not allowed to join them.

If anyone of them gives you a present, i hope that it is ok to keep it but you must not exchange gifts with them or sit with them on that occasion.
