You can recite different surah in different order.
You can recite a verse or a set of verses in one Rakah and another set from a different surah in another Rakah.

I was told that it is makroo to recite Qur’an out of order. How is it possible when the mus’haf is not chronological? Also, is it permissible to recite ayat from different surahs when praying alone?
