The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said: remorse is repentance. This means if you don’t have remorse and you are not sorry, your repentance is not accepted.

I want to make tauba for the sins I make and most of the times I fulfill all the requirements (Alhamdulillah) for tauba except that I do not feel remorse on the sins that I already made. How long should the duration of tauba should be?

There is a hadith with a dua’a to say after eating a meal that forgives previous sins. And another hadtih about praying two rakah thinking of nothing but Allah.I am wondering would this apply to even people persisting in sin or addicted to something? And would all previous sins be forgiven even if they were millions?
