First of all, he wasn’t a companion and hence we can’t use his actions or choices to judge over things!

Secondly, to my knowledge he didn’t do Khurooj but rather he fought the Italian invaders.

Thirdly, being a follower of a deviant sect -if this was true- doesn’t mean he can serve Islam or make Jihad! This is something and that is another thing.

I want to know the Islamic view on Omar Mukhtar of Libya. Muslims, mostly, hold him in high esteem and want to be like him. Wasn’t he wrong Islamically when he did Khurooj? I heard he was of some Ibadee sect. Is he somebody we should look up to or he was one of Khawaarij? What is Islamic viewpoint on him and what he did. Please clarify.
