ANSWER:

This is baseless and an innovation. The prophet salla allahu alaihi wa sallam fasted this day out of showing gratitude to Allah for saving Mosa peace be upon and his people. Making it a day of mourning and sadness is an innovation and it would be like correcting our prophet and accusing him of ignorance. 

I want to ask about the month Muharram. I am a sunni but my husband says there is no sorrow more than the death of Imam Hussain AS. What is the truth behind it? Can you guide about it? About this month about Imam Hussain and Hassan.

I didn’t fast this Ramadan because I’m on medication for Tuberculosis. After that I couldn’t fast on the day of Arafah as I was on my period, and I might not be able to fast two days of Ashura because it will fall during my upcoming period.
