ANSWER:

If you have not taken names but if people know who you’re talking about, this is slandering and a major sin. 

You shouldn’t accuse anyone without proof.

You must repent to Allah sincerely and ask for forgiveness with deep remorse. 

I started blaming some of my relatives and friends for evil eyes to my husband I didn’t mentioned anyone’s name.. I might be wrong in blaming have I done a major sin?

Sheikh, sometimes we see a group of people (muslim/non-muslim) openly doing bid’ah or evil. Can we talk (which they may not like) about them with our family members to remind ourselves of the gravity of these sins? Is this backbiting? We may refer to them by pronouns, such as “them, that group, those people”, but not with individual names.

sheikh my one side of my family regularly gathers together. the tv is on for the whole thing ( programs have music in the background) and they backbite constantly. do i have to attend so i dont break the family ties?
