ANSWER:

This is true but it was only in the beginning of Islam so that people wouldn’t mix the Quran with the hadeeth. 

After Islam was well established, he ordered the companions to write the hadeeth as in the incident of Abu Shah and also it was a well known fact that companions such as Abdullah Ibn Amro Ibn Al A’as used to write the hadeeths of the prophet salla allahu alaihi wa sallam while he was alive. 

I read on various sites that The Prophet PBUH was against the system of writing hadith. Is this true?
