……………who would have strong understanding of Quran and Sunnah. As in my home Sunnah has very less Importance.Any way a proposal has come for me from a brother who lives in KSA.His elder brother is a friend of my brother in law.He gave the proposal of his younger brother who he says, is an imam.Masha’Allah a hafiz and teaches Quran.Other than that he works at two jobs for his lively hood. His worldly education is not much.He does not have a bachelor’s degree rather he has done some courses or diploma and he earns by that.My father is saying this man will not be capable enough to support a family. His education is not good and so he will have a low dunya life and might lose job every now and then.I do not know if my father has a right to reject this brother for his education purpose.I need help please. Is my father’s reason fair enough?Shall I listen to my father or try convince him to at least meet and talk to that proposing brother. We know his elder brother and his Aqeedah is a little shaky. He is much influenced by Sufism but he lives in Pakistan.I do not know about this proposing brother as he is in KSA so I am hoping that his Aqeedah would be correct insha’Allah. But my father will never ask him regarding all this,as my father has no much knowledge about all this himself. Please advice as this is the only proposal for me so far which is from a brother who says he is pious and wants a practising Muslim sister as his wife.

Your father has the right to choose the best for you, even if he is mistaken sometimes.

Therefore, I suggest that you ask your father to meet this man and to allow you as well to sit with him in his presence to talk about the things that worry you.

I need to have some suggestions please. My father is a moderate Muslim.Where as I after learning and listening to speakers like you and many others have changed Masha’Allah.I want a pious, practising Muslim as a husband for myself.
