This is not Shirk but it is an innovation. Therefore, don’t say that because no one has rights over Allah to ask Him by that person’s sake.

I know it is shirk to ask dua from dead people, but can we ask dua from ALLAH like this: “Oh ALLAH give us this and this for the sake of your beloved Rasool Muhammad (salla ALLAHu alayhi was sallam)”or oh ALLAH give us this and this for the sake of you ______ righteous slave. ??

I believe that some years back someone told me that after every fajr and maghrib prayers it is good to ask Allah to bless the Prophet(saw) ten times. I think I was told either to say,..”Allahumma salli alaa muhammad wa ala aali muhammad kama sallayta ala ibrahima wa ala aali ibrahima innaka hameedum majeed…etc” OR it was “Allahumma salli wa sallim ala sayyidina wa nabiyyina muhammad” ten times. I want to know, is this from the sunnah and if it is then what are the virtues/rewards behind this.
