Eating it while it is still alive is not permissible as this is torture and animal like behavior. There are scholars who permitted this in the account that after the fish is out of the water, this is like slaughtering the animal. The way I see it, it is torturing the fish for no legitimate reason and if left for two or three minutes it would die.

I just wanted to ask if eating alive seafood is permissible as I have seen in many countries it is done so?

It is said that PROBIOTICS are sometimes grown on brewer yeast which is a byproduct of beer production. Does that mean that probiotic capsules which contain probiotic strains that were grown on brewer yeast would be haram? The capsules themselves do not cause intoxication.
