In this scenario one should try to talk with respect with elders also with reference if possible and show them that he was speaking with knowledge. If they still refuse to listen, he shouldn’t waste his time sitting with them or talking over such issues as they are arrogant, ignorant and stubborn. You can’t do anything with such people as their hearts are sealed.

I have question regarding enjoining good and forbidding evil with adab. Whenever I say anything to do with islam even things where there is ijma like “music is haram” my elders say “your not knowledgeable and qualified enough to say that” even though what I said was not a fatwa it was simply stating something obvious in the deen. What should one do in this scenario?
