It is a book of authentic ahadith compiled by Imam al Maqdisi. It as written on chapters if Fiqh.

I have listened to your lectures on umdatul ahkaam and i have a question concerning it.. i am a new practising muslim and am not use to this word umdatul ahkaam..is it a book or something and can you perhaps explain to me about it and if its a book how can i get a copy? what is it all about?

If two families meet, the boy and the girl meet for deciding whether they are say OK for each other for Nikah. Now if the boy and the girl both say that they are ready to marry the other. Does not this constitute Nikah, becoz the girl’s guardian is there and also say two witnesses are there.
