I have heard many people say that taraweeh and tahajjud are the same and one can pray whichever they like. Is this true? Is qiyamul lail that is conducted in many mosques in gulf same as tahajjud? Can we skip qiyamul lail and go for tahajjud instead and reward will be the same? Please clarify.

sheikh, I lived in Singapore .majority Muslim are follower of shafi madhub. In our masjid,every body pray tarawee. Most of the time 20 and sometimes 8 rakah along with witr. From 21st Ramadan they will start pray tahajjud in congretation Start from 3 am morning along with tarawee 20 rakah start from esha prayer . Is it permissible in shariya congregations in one night?
