ANSWER:

It’s not obligatory upon you at all to maintain ties with your in-laws. However, it’s mandatory upon your kids to maintain ties with their paternal family, you have no right whatsoever in stopping them from meeting their grandparents and uncles and aunts etc.

I have been married for 12 years. My in-laws have always been mentally and physically abusive to me and my 2 kids. Just last years my marriage was on the verge of divorce,Since then me n my kids have not kept any relationship with my in-laws n alhamdulillah everything is goin great. But past few months my husband is insisting me talk to my in-laws but I fear doing that.
