ANSWER:

If you did all of that for the sake of Allah, you will lose all your reward by cutting him off. You should deal with others according to your own class and not according to their class! If he is scum, you shouldn’t go down to his level! Simply smile to his arrogance and ingratitude and do not ever blame him or object to him and this would kill him softly and make you come on top.

I did a lot for my elder brother with his education, job, financial support and giving advise during difficult times. He is very ungrateful and self-centered. He comments negative things about me after I had done so much for him. I really want to cut off the relationship with him as it is affecting my mental health. Is it permissible?
