ANSWER:

You should not pray the Sunnah of dhuhr, Maghrib and isha as Prophet salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam used to skip these while traveling. Other than that, you can pray as many voluntary prayers as you want, including 2 Sunnah before Fajr and Witr as Prophet salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam never missed these even while traveling.

I am going to my relatives who live around 100 miles way and I am staying there for 2 to 3 days so I will have to shorten my prayers unless I pray with the imam,my question is based on the fact I heard you can’t pray sunnah or nafl on traval,does this also include for the night prayer or am I able to pray that as he night prayer is a nafl?
