ANSWER:

This is not true.

Women can pierce the ears but they must hide their ear rings before going out and in front of non mahram men. 

I am from India, in my country most of the women make holes in their ears to wear earrings. Some Islamic scholars here says piercing in any part of the body is Haram. If you do so you are considering that Allah missed to create holes in ears but Allah created human in a beautiful way by nature. Ple clarify if piercing ears of women for earrings is Haram or not?
