It has to be given in the form of food such as rice, dates or grain.

,I am from a remote village of West Bengal(India).In my village there are lot of opinions regarding Zakat ul fitr are going on ,some says one should give paddy because West Bengal rich in paddy,some says one should give rice(milled),wheat or dates etc. Please through some light on this

Previously, I never paid Zakatul Fitr even when I was earning some money doing freelance work. My father usually paid it for me before eid, but I think he paid it in the form of cash, which I now understand is not the correct way as we should give food.
