I have not seen or lived with my husband since April 2016. He is not interested in marriage and he doesn’t financially support me. We live in two countries since marriage(5 years).I have applied for a fasha divorce.My question is do I need to stay Iddah after the divorce since I have not lived with him since April 2016? He did not divorce me actually it was like khula the local imam will have him consent instead, we communicate but I left to live with my family, he does not ask much of me and do I ask of him, so is it okay that I stay with my family and communicate through phone only during the iddhaa period? The children are the responsibility of their father, the step father is not enjoined with their care. If he is doing this voluntary, this is charity for him! If he doesn’t want them, she should send them to her parents if they are willing to accept them!
