It is permissible to go to a male dentist if a woman needs treatment if there are no female dentists. However, it is not permissible to straighten crocked teeth except if it is affecting a person’s speech or eating or it is a clear abnormality.

This is not in our hands and nether in the doctor’s. In many cases, a lot of the predictions of the doctors are proven wrong. In some cases, the patient over lives his doctor’s life who said that it is not possible to live more than few weeks.
