I just read a hadeeth now on a twitter handle. I needed to know what does it mean. “It was a habit of prophet(pbuh)that if someone did him a good, in turn he loved to repay him with something more excellent” (Muslim 990).

What is the source (i.e. which hadith book) and classification of this hadith please? “It has been narrated from Ibn Umar, that the Prophet (Peace & Blessings be upon him) said, “He who speaks without first giving salaam, then do not answer him (to what he has to say).” Also, if it is authentic, then how should we apply it?

I’m talking abt the following hadith sheikh: Narrated Abu ‘Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash’ari (R.A): that he (R.A) heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, “From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. Is this story true? From where can I get the reference of this story? One day a poor man brought a bunch of grapes to the holy Prophet Muhammad (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) as a gift. The holy Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) ate one, two, three and then the whole bunch of grapes by himself. He did not offer grapes to anyone present. The poor man who brought those grapes was very pleased and left. One of the companions asked, “O prophet of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) ! How come you ate all the grapes by yourself and did not offer to any one of us present? The holy Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) smiled and said, “I ate all the grapes by myself because the grapes were sour. If I would have offered you, you might have made funny faces and that would have hurt the feelings of that poor man. I thought to myself that it’s better that I eat all of them cheerfully and please the poor man. I did not want to hurt the feelings of that poor man.” Such were the manners of this most noble Prophet of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam).

One maulana in the masjid gave a daleel of sahih Muslim saying Jabir Bin Abdullah (radiy Allahu anhu) narrates that the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) once entered the masjid and told us why is that I am seeing you raising your hands like that of a horses tail, make sure you have sukoon in salaah.
