ANSWER:

I suspect that no one on earth knows the meaning or the origin of it!

Using brands such as Nike, Hermès, Apollo, Zeus, Nemesis , Iris etc is permissible as people do not relate it to any gods and neither they believe in it.

However, if you are in doubt, you should refrain.

Can we wear clothes or perfumes named after greek gods? Like Nike or Eros.
