Can we say Assalamo Alaikum warahmtulla wa barakatuhu to a non muslim

sheikh someone was doing things like eating people’s money in a corrupt way kinda, not paying off debt, not having knowledge about its consequences, that Allah will hold him to account for it, but now he is closer to Allah like never before, and he is worried about his past. The problem is he don’t know the amount he consumed. What should that person do? Please.
