If it’s your wealth then it’s mandatory that you give them permission verbally or in writing to pay zakat on it on your behalf.

Can i silently,without telling my parents, accept/give my permission to pay my zakat on my wealth. I dont have to announce it to them right? I can just keep it in my heart?

Suppose I have to give Zakat 913.75 dollars. But to be safe and assure, I decided to donate 1000 dollars and intend that the money I am supposed to give zakat is given as zakat and the extra money is given as normal charity.
