No problem in having intimacy with your wife when athan is going on. 

At times I visit some other city, or few times it happened that I visited to Madina and was in a hotel near to Masjid Nabvi. Me and my wife came close to each other, but in the middle I hear the loud Azan and I instantly stop for a while till Azan completes.
