The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said, “There is no ‘Fitnah’ {tribulation} much greater than that of Dajjal since Allah had created Adam’s descendants”. O slaves of Allah! Our prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam had told us about two ‘Maseeh’ {Christ}; one in the heaven, and one in the hell fire. The one who is in heaven is Al Maseeh, Jesus the son of Mary; he was called Al Maseeh, {‘wiper’} because he used to wipe on the patient and the patient would be cured {by the leave of Allah azza wa jal}. However, the other Maseeh is a liar. Our Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam described him to us so that we understand who he is and how dangerous his trials would be. He would appear in a period in which many people would not know anything about him. He’s a short man, red complexion, bowlegged, with curly hair, wide forehead, huge; he is blind in the right eye, while his other eye will be flat. It will be neither deep, nor protruding, it looks like a bulging grape, and his left eye would be a web-eye.

The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said that there is never a prophet who has not warned his Ummah of that one-eyed liar; behold he is one-eyed and your Lord is not one-eyed. On his forehead are the letters k. f. r. (Kafir) written. Every Muslim would read it clearly, even if he were an illiterate. He is also barren, and his appearance is one of the great conditions of the day of Resurrection, as well as our Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam’s death was one of the minor conditions of the day of Resurrection.

The signs of his Fitnah are that the flourishing of Jerusalem will mark the desertion of Al-Madinah; the desertion of Al-Madinah will mark the start of Al-Malhamah ‘ battle’. The start of Al-Malhamah will mark the conquering of Constantinople. There will be killing and bloodshed, the man would wake up as a believer and sleeps as a disbeliever. Moreover, people will be divided into two groups; one with pure faith with no hypocrisy and the other with pure hypocrisy with no faith. Then there would be a great Malhamah’ that would take place between Muslims and Christians and Muslims will kill many Christians in such a great battle that even the birds in the sky would be falling down dead.

The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam told us that there will be three hard years before the Dajjal (appears). During those years, people will be stricken’ by a great famine; in the first year, Allah will command the sky to withhold a third of its rain, and the earth to withhold a third of its produce. In the second year, Allah will command the sky to withhold two thirds of its rain, and the earth to withhold two thirds of its produce. In the third year, Allah will command the sky to withhold all of its rain, and it will not rain a single drop of rain. All hoofed animals will perish. However, the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said even though there would not be any food, people will keep alive by Tahlil, Takbir and Tahmid (Saying, la ilaha ill Allah, Allahu Akbar and Alhamdulillah).

In Tamim Ad-Dari’s Hadith he mentioned that Ad-Dajjal will be in chains in an island and will appear when Allah wishes from the East in Kharasan land ‘near Iran’. He will stay for forty days, one day will be like a year and the next day like a month and the following day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your normal days. All disbelievers will wait for him especially those Jews of Esfahan; they will be waiting for him thinking that he will restore their power. Moreover, Persians, Turkish, Bedouin and women, even some women of Al-Madinah will follow him despite their husbands chaining them.

Moreover, Ad Dajjal would order the sky to rain and the land to produce plants for those who follow him; therefore, their cattle will get fat. On the other hand, he would order all that to stop for those who do not believe in him. He will have great speed with which he would reach all the cities except Mecca, Al-Madinah,Jerusalem and Mount Tur. He would have two rivers on both his sides; one of fire and one of cold water, in addition, a mountain of food. He commands the destroyed land to bring out its treasures then the people would follow him like bees. He talks to the Bedouin saying, “If I give life to your dead parents, will you believe in me?” So two devils will assume the appearance of his father and mother, and say, “O my son, follow him for he is your lord!”

I ask Allah for His Protection for you and me.

The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said: Jesus will descend at the white minaret, east of Damascus, going with Muslims to kill Ad-Dajjal, and Muslims will kill Jews who follow him. The Fitnah of Ad-Dajjal is so great that all prophets warned their people because nobody knows {except Allah} the time when Ad-Dajjal appears.

There are some ways to be saved of his Fitnah; one of them is to adhere to the Islamic teachings as the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Ad-Dajjal will come out when there is lack of Deen and people do not care of knowledge.” Therefore, no matter what you see, when you KNOW that his water and heaven are just fire and his fire equals heaven, {which he carries on both his sides wherever he goes} this is what can save you from his Fitnah. We should be well acquainted with his false miracles as the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam urged us to get more sensible thinking exactly as that boy who would come out to expose him. Then Ad-Dajjal kills him, dividing his body into two, walking between the two sides and then again will give his life back, asking him if he believed in him now. The boy laughs saying, “I swear by Allah I am convinced more than before that you are Ad-Dajjal”.

Also, living in the Two Holy cities {Mecca, Madinah}and Jerusalem is one of the protective ways because Ad-Dajjal cannot enter there; as well as reading Surat Al-Kahf every Jumu’ah ‘Friday’ and memorizing the first ten ayahs and the last ten ayahs of it. In addition seek refuge of Allah to protect us from Ad-Dajjal’s Fitnah at the end of every prayer. Therefore, Du’aa is one of the greatest ways to be protected.

The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam warned Muslims against getting close to Ad-Dajjal saying: whoever hears about Ad-Dajjal has to be away from him, ‘Wallahi’ I swear by Allah that the man who would get close to him thinking he’s a believer, will follow him then he gets suspicions, thinking whether whatever Dajjal is saying is true!” This is the reason that Muslims should do away with suspicions; they have to be away from him; do not be thinking they can fight him, which brings the arrogance.

O, people of Allah, Fear Allah and believe of what our Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam says. Unfortunately, some people who follow Ad-Dajjal urge people to hate the Deen and scholars, deny the authentic Hadeeth. They spread suspicion between Muslims and beautify the desires of life in order to pave the way to the Dajjal; therefore, when he appears, he finds many people who would follow him. May Allah benefit us with Qur’an and Sunnah!
