…I did not abandon raising my hands in Dua at all during this course of time. I found a benefit and a peace in my heart to also communicate to Allah this was as sometimes I have to stop and think about what I am trying to say and how to say it. When raising my hands I seem to not be able to collect my thoughts all the way all the time when I want to talk to Allah about some things in long detail. And I know that it is not over and above making Dua and making Tahajjud. So would writing letters to Allah in my personal journal be a bidah in worship?
==================================================

It seems to me that this isn’t permissible as it is as if you are making Allah like the others and you write Him a letter. Though this letter will not be posted, it seems to me that it is not the right thing to do and I don’t like it.

Therefore, I highly recommend that you don’t do that.

A while ago I used to have a journal where I would write my thoughts and feelings to Allah. I stopped because I didn’t know if this would be a permissible form of Ibaadah….
