In which cases is it permissible to talk about your sins with someone?

Sharee’ah says not to expose your sins such as a rapist should not expose his crime, he should rather repent. From another hand, it says, rapists should be given capital punishment. If every rapist hides his crime, what will happen to the justice of those who are rape victims? Please clarify this point.

I go to university in America and professors have a syllabus for their classes. In it there are rules for the class. For example, it may state in the syllabus that google searching for answers to a test is prohibited. However, I don’t think I ever signed to agree to these rules, do I have to abide by them? What if I did want to google search the answers to a test?
