ANSWER:

He accompanied the Prophet salla allahu alaihi wa sallam 24/7 as he didn’t work like other companions and he had a strong memory and the duaa from the Prophet to help him. 

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) has narrated 5000+ hadiths and i have been told he only spent a few years with the Prophet (SAW). How is it that he has narrated 3 or 4 times as many ahadith as Abu Bakr as Siddique (RA) and Umar ibn Al Khattab (RA) when they spent so much more time with him ?
